Inspiring Birthworkers to Transform Maternal Health

Join a community of compassionate birth professionals working to prevent poor outcomes with skill, wisdom, and presence.

Why Our Training Matters

Maternal health in the United States is at a tipping point. Families face preventable trauma and poor outcomes while birthworkers are stretched thin.

Yet 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable with the right care.

It starts with skilled, compassionate professionals ready to address these gaps.

Behind Every Statistic is a Family.

  • 1 in 3 birthing families experience their birth as traumatic.

(Beck, Nursing Research, 2004; Dekel et al., Birth, 2019)

  • 80% of all poor maternal health outcomes are preventable.

    (CDC, 2017-2019)

  • Over one third of U.S. counties are maternity care deserts. In New Hampshire, 13 community hospitals and birth centers have closed.

(CDC, March of Dimes, Boston Globe 2024)

  • Maternal mental health is often overlooked

1 in 5 birthing people experience postpartum depression.

1 in 7 experience perinatal anxiety disorders.

Suicide is a leading cause of maternal death in the first year postpartum.

Most are not honest on mental health screenings due to fear of judgment or stigma.

  • These Are Real Lives. We Can Prevent This.

These numbers aren’t just statistics. They’re real families and real lives. Too many are experiencing preventable harm but it doesn’t have to be this way. With skilled, compassionate support, we can change these outcomes.
